Elite Smart Build refurbished Santo Domingo Bay in Boca Chica
Elite Smart Build carried out the complete refurbishment of Santo Domingo Bay Convention Resort & Casino, the former Hotel Hamaca in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic. It was a turnkey project covering 351 rooms, the corridors and every common area. Work ran from March 2024 to December 2025, with the hotel closed throughout. The hotel is owned by Globalia and reopened under Be Live Hotels.
Elite has refurbished three Globalia hotels in the Dominican Republic: Santo Domingo Bay Convention Resort & Casino, Sunscape Coco Punta Cana and Sunscape Dominicus La Romana.

Elite ran the whole project
Elite took on full management of the turnkey project, from design and technical development through planning and execution to the final handover of the hotel.
The result is a five-star resort: a project that brought a historic, much-loved Boca Chica hotel back to life.
The rooms
Elite refurbished all 351 rooms, from the building services to the last piece of furniture:
- Plumbing, electrics and lighting.
- Drywall and suspended ceilings.
- Joinery.
- New flooring and skirting.
- iNfeel surface film on walls, showers and headboards, plus painting.
- All the room furniture and equipment.
